Edged weapons are at the heart of Japanese culture. The mythical origin of Japan begins with the legendary Izanami and Izanagi stirring the cosmic soup with a spear. The salt that dripped from the spear tip afterward formed the Japanese islands.
Despite their wild and severe marriage issues, they also birthed Amaterasu, Tsukiyomi, and Susanoo.
