Conversations about Aikido can be frustrating. Here's one with three military and law enforcement veterans that completely changed my mind about its purpose and origin.
Something happened to Aikido after World War 2…it was softened. Its true nature veiled under the prevalence of “flow n' throw”…it was isolated rather than blended. It was taken literally.
As we usher in new ways to have conversations about martial arts and fighting, it is important to remember that HOW we have conversations can make all the difference in the world.
